RiseUp! Girl Power curriculum is medically accurate, age appropriate, LGBQT+ inclusive, trauma informed and evidenced based.

Our RiseUp! Girl Power program can be customized to fit the educational and social-emotional needs of girls ranging from the age of 10-18

A typical session runs for 10-12 weeks with 2-3 classes per week

  • MENTAL HEALTH

    Includes or emotional, psychological, and social well being…social (how we relate to others), emotional (how we feel), and behavioral (how we act) supports to promote overall well-being (Chafouleas, 2020)

  • EVIDENCE BASED

    Denoting an approach to medicine, education, and other disciplines that emphasizes the practical application of the findings of the best available current research.

  • TRAUMA INFORMED

    To recognize the pervasiveness of trauma in the world as well as the effect it can have on individuals and groups. We anticipate how trauma survivors may respond to our words and actions, and we do our part to not cause further harm but instead foster growth, resiliency, and healing.

  • EMPOWERMENT

    To actively encourage people to use their power and voice by helping people develop skills such as self-advocacy and assertiveness.

  • BEHAVIORAL HEALTH

    How daily cognitive habits affect a person's well-being, emotions, biology, and behavior. It includes mental health and substance use disorders, life stressors, crises, and stress-related physical symptoms.

  • LGBTQ+

    An abbreviation for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer or questioning, intersex, asexual, and more. These terms are used to describe a person's sexual orientation or gender identity.

  • INCLUSIVE

    Creating an inclusive space requires having an appreciation for where others are coming from and what they might be experiencing so that all participants may feel safe and welcomed in that space.

  • CIVIC ENGAGEMENT

    Working to make a difference in one’s community and developing the combination of knowledge, skills, values and motivation to make that difference.

  • TRANSFORMATIVE LEADERS/LEADERSHIP

    A a leadership approach that causes change in individuals and social systems. It creates valuable and positive change in the followers with the end goal of developing followers into leaders.
